Mixed Media Assemblages | Recycled, One-of-A-Kind Art Created From Discarded & Found Objects

Collection Description:

Michel Keck’s mixed media assemblages and mixed media wall sculptures are original, one-of-a-kind artworks created through the practice of bricolage — building art from reclaimed, recycled, and repurposed materials. Each piece combines found objects, wood, metal, vintage items, and studio remnants into striking mixed media assemblage art that transforms discarded materials into meaningful form.

Keck began exploring mixed media assemblages in 2003 with small boxed dioramas made from vintage cigar boxes. Over time, this evolved into large-scale wall sculptures, using accumulated studio materials such as packaging, paint tubes, worn tools, and other overlooked items. These works established a long-term artistic practice focused on turning forgotten objects into original, textured, and layered mixed media assemblage art.

Her mixed media wall assemblages include symbolic heart assemblages, cross assemblages created through traditional found object and bricolage techniques, and large-scale abstract wall sculptures. In all cases, the materials themselves tell a story, creating unique mixed media art pieces that blend texture, history, and visual impact.
